Friday

Daily activities: Today was our last day of our first week. Stephanie and I met Diane at 12:00, to begin for our first patient. Today was the day that we were able to have our first evaluation. Our patient’s injury was to the hip and is beginning to cause pain in the right Glut and down her leg. Stephanie and I observed as Diane did different test, exercises, and stretches to test the strength of the hip and the legs. Some of the test to see how strong the legs were, Diane made the patient sit on the table and made her lift her knee to the ceiling and hold it there as Diane pushed down on the knee. This let Diane see how strong the leg was, and how the strength can improve through different exercises.

After the evaluation Diane gave the patient some new exercises that will help strength and flexibility in not just the weaker leg but both to keep the body balanced.

We had one more patient come in who had another knee injury. Stephanie and myself watched as Diane put the patient on stimulation and then some other exercises. After that we went over our time slot pages and filled those out.

I am looking forward to next Saturday because we are going to see an actual ACL surgery, which Diane has set up for us.
